Fees and Charges
The good news is that there are no additional charges applied to your quote when
you book with CENTRAL CAR HIRE.
That said we know that descriptions of fees and charges will vary by supplier, so
we hope the following helps to clear things up for you.
Administration Fee
Also known as an Admin Fee. This fee is charged by most car rental companies and
is applied on all bookings regardless of where you book your vehicle. This fee is
a percentage charged by all car rental companies and will be displayed as part of
your quote.
Airport Surcharge
The Airport Surcharge may be listed as ARF, PLS or Premium Location Surcharge but
all one and the same.
Most airports in Australia charge an Airport Recovery Fee. Our suppliers are charged
for having airport locations and this fee is simply passed onto the consumer. The
fee is generally charged on all associated charges on the rental and will be included
in your quote.
Age Surcharge
If you are aged between 21 and 25 you will be charged a daily age surcharge by all
car rental companies to drive their vehicles.
They charge this fee for similar reasons that you pay higher insurance premiums
when you are aged below 25 years old - its simply a bigger risk to the car rental
organisation. This surcharge differs from car rental company to company and will
be included in your quote.
GST
GST is Australia’s General Services Tax and applies to all car hire charges Australia
wide. Your quote includes GST on each component already.
One Way Fees
One way fees may be incurred and vary by supplier. This fee covers the cost of relocating
the vehicle. When charged, this fee will be included in your quote.
Stamp Duty
Stamp duty is a state government tax and will vary depending on which state you
collect your vehicle. This fee is a percentage charged by all car rental companies
and will be displayed as part of your quote.
Vehicle Registration Fee
Also known as VRRF, VRF or Vehicle Recovery Fee. This is a daily charge that the
car rental companies impose to recover the substantial costs of registering their
vehicles in some states. This fee will vary from state to state, however it is always
included in your quote.
